Successful treatment kidney cancer in solitary right kidney

Patient with a history of renal cell carcinoma in the left kidney S/P nephrectomy (removal of the kidney). CT done in September 2009 now shows a new tumor in his remaining right kidney.
Radiofrequency ablation was offered as an alternative and performed on the tumor that same month. CT shows the needle piercing the tumor.
Post ablation CT now shows diffuse hypodensity of the nodule.
Follow up CT in April 2012 (2 and a half years later) shows no evidence of active tumor. Kidney function is still intact. Patient is still doing well and scheduled for follow-up in a year.
